Pjur Aqua

FunWares knows about my quest for the perfect lube and they have obliged me by sending me some new lubes to try out.  The first lube from this group I’m trying is Pjur Aqua which is a water-based lubricant made by a German company.  The bottle is black plastic with a screw on top and has a label with product info in five languages.  The bottle holds 3.4 fl oz of lube.

Let’s start with the ingredients.  The bottle lists the ingredients as: Aqua (water), Glycerin, Ethoxydiglycol, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, and Methylisothiazolinone.  Now, I can’t pronounce 90% of that list, so I thought I’d look the ingredients and see what they do.  Here’s what I found:

Ethoxydiglycol– A clear colorless liquid used in personal care products and cosmetics to thin out products and/or increase viscosity.
Hydroxypropyl– A cellulose-derived emulsifier and lubricant
Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride– A water-soluble derivative of natural guar gum that delivers conditioning properties.
Hydroxyethylcellulose– A plant-derived amino acid used as a preservative, emulsifier, binder and thickener in beauty products. It’s a water-soluble polymer that provides colloid protection and can be thickened or thinned to be used in a variety of products.
Citric Acid– A natural preservative.
Propylene Glycol– A moisturizer.
Benzyl Alcohol–A solvent and preservative
Methylchloroisothiazolinone– A preservative.
Methylisothiazolinone– A preservative.

So mostly a lot of preserving and lubricating going on.  I’m not crazy about Glycerin being in the mix, as it can cause problems for ladies with sensitive bits in the form of the yeastie beasties.  I haven’t had any problems with the Glycerin, but I tend not to have a super sensitive vag.  The smell of the lube is kind of citrus sour and it does have a bit of a lemon citrus flavor as well, though very subtle.

To apply this lube, unscrew the top and point and tip.  It actually reminds me a bit of a glue stick, though the lube is liquid and pours out of a hole in the top.  The consistency is pretty then as far as for pouring.  If you shake the bottle you can hear it sloshing around inside.  When applying to a toy, you have to be careful because it will run and drip easily.  But there is one saving grace for the messiness.  This stuff lasts and lasts!  I did my standard finger rubbing test and Pjur Aqua lasted longer than most lubes, maybe the longest yet.  Add to that the fact that adding a bit of water re-activates the lubrication and this stuff has you set for hours of fun.

The only other thing I didn’t care for with this lube is that it does leave my skin a bit sticky after use.  It reallyC needs to be washed off my hands, though I didn’t notice it being an issue if I didn’t shower to wash my vag immediately.  Clean up is easy, it washes away with soap and water.

So FunWares did pretty good with their first lube offering. This comes in a close 3rd position behind System JO Anal H2O and Sliquid Sassy Booty which only trump it for being thicker.

Try a new lube or re-order a favorite from FunWares and be treated with first class service. Your items will arrive discreetly and safely at your door, leaving the contents a mystery in their plain brown box.
