Maximus Lube

Maximus lube is one of the favorite lubes of many toy users. I’ve heard recommendations for this lube for quite a while now, so when Babeland offered it up for review I decided it was time for me to find out about its awesomeness for myself.  It comes in a clear 1.69 fl oz bottle with a black flip top cap, a picture of a column and vase, the ingredients, and an expiration date.  I love that the manufacturers include an expiration date because I have a lot of lube and sometimes it sits for a while.  The expiration date is just a reassurance that my product is still safe.

Let’s talk ingredients.  According to the bottle, Maximus contains the following: Highly Purified Water, Propylene Glycol Cellulose Polymer, Di Sodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben.  I’m happy there are no glycerines in the ingredient list, as they can cause yeast infections for some ladies, but it does contain parabens.  Parabens have possibly been linked with some types of cancer, nothing truly definitive yet, but I do like to limit my exposure when I can.  With that said, this is by far not the only lube or even beauty product that contains parabens and it isn’t a reason for me to completely exclude this from my play, especially with how well it works.  And another bonus?  According to the manufacturer’s site Maximus is ‘also formulated to be bio-static, this means, should it be exposed to any bacteria, yeast infection or fungal spores it will stop them spreading.’

The lube itself has no scent and just a slightly bitter taste to it.  I did my standard test of rubbing the lube between my fingers and it didn’t start to slow down until the 1 minute mark.  I added a bit of saliva and the slickness came right back. Maximus is a nice thick lube that stays mostly where you put it but spreads easily when you want it to.  In use, it works great!  Since its water-based I like to use it with my silicone toys, though it works great for all toys.  I’ve used it on two different silicone dildos with no negative effects to the silicone.  I’ve used it on dry land and also in the shower.  Water-based lubes are easy to wash off with water, so I wasn’t sure how well Maximus would work in the shower, but it turns out it was an unfounded concern.  It lasted through my whole masturbation session in the shower and then washed clean when I was done.

I have to say that the hype about Maximus is true. It works great and lasts wonderfully.  I haven’t had any negative reactions, i.e. yeast infections or urinary tract infections, after using this product.  I still love my Sliquid Sassy and my System Jo Anal H2O, but this is ranking right up there.

If you’re looking for a reliably slick lubricant, Maximus is it! Pick up a bottle from Babeland and check out their huge selection of other products.

Thanks to Babeland for providing this product free for my honest opinion.
