Picobong Koa Ring

One of the newest things on the sex toy scene lately has been a new brand of toy, Picobong.  This new toy provider is actually a new branch of the luxury toy maker LELO who wanted to make a group of toys that are quality but lower price than their other toys.  This line of toys is battery powered as opposed to their rechargeable toys that they already offer but they don’t skimp on good things.  I got the Koa Ring to test out, to see what all Picobong brought to the table.

My biggest praise of this product is the silky smooth silicone used for the vibrating portion.  I happened to also get a Tiani to review for another retailer at the same time I received this and the silicone feels identical. Both feel elegant and smooth, lovely.  The other great things about the Koa Ring are the power and easy controls. Like most of their toys, the Koa Ring has easy to press buttons that are integrated into the toy. The ‘+’ and ‘-‘ signs that are used to control the Koa Ring are right on the body of the bullet portion. The plus is located in the center of the ‘b’ in ‘Picobong’ and the minus is in the ‘P’. The vibrations are steady vibration only, but can be decreased or increased using the buttons.

ETA:Thanks to a reader I have come to realize that the Koa Ring actually has multiple vibration settings!! This only makes this toy cooler…But here are the settings, as I eagerly tested them out after that tip: Slow pulse, medium pulse, fast pulse, super fast pulse, a low to high climbing vibe, a faster climbing vibe, a slow rolling vibe , medium rolling vibe (my favorite), combination climbing vibe followed by three pulses, faster combo with 4 pulses, and a couple different erratic combos with varying strength. All together, as pointed out, 12 different settings. As I said….that just made this more awesome.  You access these vibrations by going to the highest steady vibration and then pressing and holding the plus sign.  You can return to steady vibrations at any time by pressing the minus sign again.

As I mentioned before, this is a battery powered toy. It runs on a single AAA battery, so the strength of the vibrations isn’t earth shattering but still enjoyable. The plastic top that forms the ring on the toy unscrews for battery placement and is waterproof up to 3 feet. I did notice a tiny bit of lube on the very inner edge where the plastic meets the body of the toy after use, so keep an eye on it.  The vibrations appear to be focused int he tip of the toy but are felt throughout the body of it. I would say the highest strength is about a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Now, the Koa Ring can be used in a couple of different ways. It can be used as a couples toy attached to the penis, a solo toy on a dildo or your fingers, or as a couples toy held by you or your partner for moving stimulation. To use it the first way, you simply slide the plastic clip hook around your partner’s penis with the vibe on the under side of the penis so that it will rub against the clit. This makes my guy’s whole penis vibrate in a fun and pleasant way and the silicone glides nicely against the skin. But…the clip doesn’t hold it on too well and I was worried it would pinch, though he assured me that it was comfortable during wear. Also, the bullet is just a bit wide for its purpose. I can spread my legs wide and often do during sex, but I don’t need 2.5 inches of bullet to hit my clit. It really isn’t that big. I think a bit shorter of a bullet would work better. Off the cock, this can be a lot of fun with your partner. Stimulating the nipples, that sensitive spot under the cock head, any erogenous zone really, is very easy and adds a bit of fun to the foreplay or intermission of your sex play.

Using the Koa Ring for solo play is pretty nice. The ring is pretty wide, so I found that I have to use two fingers to make it not spin around and it also allowed for my pinkie to rest on the tip to direct pressure that way. I’m a clit stim girl, as we’ve already established, so I kind of go straight for it with this and not tend to wander to other erogenous zones. Attaching this to a dildo is kinda cool too because it turns it into a vibrator but I still have the same size problem as far as length of the bullet goes.

Care and cleaning are the same as for any silicone vibrator.  Wash with warm water and anti-bacterial soap.  You can also clean this with a 10% bleach solution or a toy cleaner, but I would avoid boiling since it could damage the motor.  This smooth silicone doesn’t seem to attract lint like some other silicone’s do, but a storage bag is always nice to keep toys protected.

All in all, I think this is a pretty good intermediate toy.  This is a well priced, quality toy that is great for people with a limited budget or those who are still exploring what they like.  The silicone really is silky smooth and seduces all on its own.  Babeland carries all if Picobong’s new toys so check them out and see if one is right for you.
