Velvet Harness

In my opinion, a girl can never have too many options.  As proof positive of that, you could just look through my large and growing collection of dildos and vibrators.  So, naturally, after I got my first strap-on harness, I was ready to try another.  And as luck would have it, Good Vibrations had a strap-on harness available for review so for the sake of my good readers…and my need to have options, I snagged one.

This is the Velvet Harness, an adjustable harness with a single speed bullet and 3 different sized o-rings.  The way that this harness is designed is that there is one strap that runs around the hips and two go around the thighs. The straps are 1 inch wide nylon with plastic buckles to adjust size. Putting it on is very easy, just step into the straps like you’re putting on panties, pull them up and then tighten the straps by pulling on the loose ends. The adjustable straps have plenty of length to adjust to many sizes and can accommodate up to 60 inch hips.The center part that covers the vag holds the dildo and is a triangle that is 4.25 inches long from top to pointy end and 5.5 inches wide at the top of the triangle. It is a soft velvet like material and has a little bullet pouch on the back side. The included o-rings are 1.5 inches, 1.75 inches, and 2 inches in diameter, so you can fit just about any dildo you’d want in there. The o-rings are held in place by 4 snapping nylon straps. You can place the o-ring in first and then the dildo because the center pad slides back on the straps to allow room.

My Velvet Harness is actually purple like the one pictured to the right. Putting the harness on and adjusting it was very easy but it took a bit of tweaking until I felt like it was really in place. The straps being only 1 inch wide plays a big part in this, they just didn’t feel as able to support my big Captain dildo.  To make it feel really stable, I had to tighten the straps almost to the point of being uncomfortable, but I did finally get it where I wanted it.  The nylon straps are nice and smooth and didn’t seem to chafe with movement at all, which is a definite plus, especially with the tightness required to make this fit well.  The soft patch over the vag was adequately sized and the o-ring straps worked great.  The dildo did not feel like it was in any danger of slipping out, so long as the right size o-ring was used.  The bullet slips down in a little pouch on the back side of the pad  and it actually runs the whole length of the pad.  I thought this was great because you can adjust where the bullet actually is to make sure it is hitting the right spots.  For me, tucked just inside was perfect.  The o-rings holds the dildo in just the right place to rub against your clit with the bullet with every thrust.

One thing I worried about with this strap-on harness was care. The soft padded triangle will obviously get wet, soak up fluids and eventually could get pretty nasty. Luckily, this harness is machine washable! That makes me feel a lot better about multiple uses, in all honestly.  Make sure you remove the bullet for washing, of course and I’d recommend sticking with line drying.

So, this isn’t my favorite strap-on harness but it is a pretty decent one. Definitely one I’d recommend for newcomers to strap-on play. The stability of the wider straps on my SpareParts Joque Harness work much better than the smaller ones of the Velvet Harness. There is really a better sense of control when the straps are wider. Of course, I wouldn’t have known that if I hadn’t tried the SpareParts Joque Harness first.
